DATA: Training

Harnessing the expertise of our data and technical experts, BDS offers libraries the opportunity to attend or request one-day and short workshops run by trained BDS members of staff and associates. Courses can be designed and tailored to your needs.

Previous courses have focused on topics such as RDA, an introduction to MARC, Dewey Decimal Classification and the construction of Library of Congress Subject Headings.

Our aim is to assist libraries to make the best possible use of the best bibliographic data available today. The more informed your staff are about data, the more they can exploit the resource of your catalogue to deliver value to the library and to its customers. Training by BDS staff fast-tracks new staff and saves time and money internally.

Feedback:

“I think that it was a really good course, well-organised, well-presented, covering all the areas that I hoped would be covered.
